If you like surfboards

Just playing around with the circular pads, they don't trip u, and give some tactile sense to your feet about where they are. Don't like too much padding as it detracts from the feel, I'll probably lose the 4 up front as they're unnecessary.

The boxes are the super strong fcs with the boxes bonded through and at the bottom and top, I like futures and fcs and have loads of fins in both in different sizes but had these on this board.

Don't think it's a cheap price for a UK custom board, more a fair one in comparison to production boards and US imports. The hydroflex surfboards are under £600 but shipping and import duty plus tax takes it to £1k.

Hi Mike,
Just wondered if you are still happy with the surfboard? Pictures have disappeared. Any chance of putting them up again?

Thanks...

Following on from Mike's recommendations (I don't know him!) decided I would order a board from Luke Young. Just got back from 4 days in Westward Ho and am very pleased with my board. Followed Mikes design with a few tweeks. Went for 5'6" x 18.5" x 2 1/16". That worked out at just under 26 ltrs. Also rather than a sharp pointed nose I went for a slightly squashed one so that the board was shorter but did not reduce the volume. I really like the look of it too! Took a while to adjust to the board, but am now really liking it. Turns nice, planes well and surfs well. Feels very strong. Had marginal conditions for 3 days and then well powered up on 4th day and board performed well all days.

Wow, not been on here for a while.

Great to hear, I'm sure you'll love it. He makes a great product, and he really involves you in the process.

Mines still going great, no dents and it's clocked up a lot of riding, just had my best session at Camber today for a couple of years, turned on a wave out back and got 9 turns on it to the beach, a record for me and Camber. My board turns like a fiend.

Bill would love to see yours, can you post a picture?

Plus if and when and need another board I would definitely go back to Luke.

Looks a nice shape. I can't do Camber tomorrow as have a hospital thing. I ride black airush waves and my board is white with a blue rail and deck pad, I always wear a white helmet too.
